Ingredients
PIES – ground beef, ground pork, mashed potatoes, diced onion, garlic, kosher salt, cinnamon, oregano, dry mustard, allspice, ground cloves, concentrated beef broth, flour, pie crust & lid. CHILI SAUCE – tomato paste, brown sugar, honey, cider vinegar, paprika, Worcestershire Sauce, garlic powder, crushed red pepper, allspice, cinnamon, cloves, salt, pepper
Cooking
Thaw in fridge. CHILI SAUCE: Empty Chili Sauce into a small pot. Heat and simmer 10 min, stirring occasionally. Thin with a little water if necessary. Allow to cool and refrigerate until serving time. TORTIERE: Heat oven to 350F/177C. Heat a frypan to medium high. Cook meat mixture, stirring often, until meat is crumbled and cooked through. Add mashed potato & beef broth/flour. Continue cooking until broth has thickened, approx. 5 min. Fill crust with meat filling & top with the pie lid. Bake at 350F/177C 45-50 min, or until pie crust is golden brown. Slice and serve with cooled Chili Sauce. Enjoy!
